It was my first time to travel with Akiiki Holidays to Rubona community Visitors Centre hosted by Elly. I can't recommend them enough: so professional and accomodative. Our guide, Junian, went out of his way to make our time in Rubona Community unforgettable. We really appreciate his flexibility with our itenary... he even went on an eight hour naturewalk/ hike with us to show us the best views at the highest point we could reach. He had answers to all the random questions we asked and was patient with us at all circumstances. Not forgetting the continuos incouragment while hiking ensuring we reached our most desired goal witout fail. The elements we enjoyed on our itenary include the following: 1. The beautiful unforgettable camping experience. There was an option for other accommodation but I was mostly interested in camping. I enjoyed every bit of it. 2. The nature walk thruough Rwenzori Mountain National Park. Where we saw and discussed about many tree and plant species. We also met a number of natives to and fro on our same trek. They were much stronger than us as they are used to the terain. 3. We visited a number of crater lakes in Rwimi village. 4. We visited the Kiwa Herritage Hot springs. Got to cleanse our skins with the soil at the bottom of the Hot springs. This I now want to do more often. 5. We visited some of the fish ponds around Kiwa Herritage Hotsprings. Got to feed some of the fish in the ponds. We were able to identify about three types of fish in these ponds. 6. Not forgetting the beautiful life experiences we shared while at the camp fire. Many lessons were taught and learnt every night. 7. The Bakonzo people in Rubona community are such wonderful and hospitable people. Elly our main host taught us some of the words such as "WABUKYIRE" to mean Good Morning. We were always responded to with very bright smiles from these people.Thank you Robona Community visitors centre, Whispers of the Rwenzoris, Akiiki Holidays and Elly Musinguzi for an opportunity to Explore our Beautiful mother land. I look forward to recommend and plan another trip with you.
